City Rescue Mission’s new education center is open, and classes are in full-swing. At 3,405 square feet, the center is home to two computer lab classrooms, one lecture classroom and a library, helping to provide a variety of programs for youth and adults.
“Education is a big part of what we do at City Rescue Mission, whether that is helping someone complete their GED, learn a new trade or find the means to pursue learning as a way to better their future. We want the education center to make learning accessible and fun for all those who come to us in need.”
– President & CEO Tom Jones
With more than 300 courses to choose from– like spiritual development and breaking addictions to financial literacy and retail management– the center aims to embody a college campus feel, giving students the opportunity to structure their learning and future in a way that suits them. Residents can take up a new craft or learn the essential skills to assist them as they may need to reenter the workforce.
