When you’re struggling with something, it’s comforting to know you’re not alone. You meet someone going through the same thing — or who’s been there — and it somehow makes you feel a little bit better . . . especially if they’ve come out on the other side.
That’s an appropriate description of many of our caseworkers here at City Rescue Mission. They can honestly look most of our guests in the eye and say, “I feel your pain. I’ve been there too.”
Most of our staff were clients here, too. At one point, they walked through our doors for the first time, nervous but hopeful, and found the help and hope they needed. They turned their lives around, and now they’re helping others do the same.
That’s a powerful bond everyone will share over Thanksgiving. It creates empathy that works wonders with a person in the midst of hardship. But that kind of wonder-working power couldn’t happen without your support.
Thank you, and may God bless you,
