From Our President and CEO

As we enter 2019, many of us will spend time reflecting on the past year, determining areas in our lives we need improvement, and committing to making changes in the New Year. Reflection and change can be a positive experience for many. It can renew the heart, mind and soul as well as deepen our relationship with the Lord.

However, homeless and hurting people spend the majority of their lives living in constant reminders of their past mistakes while not making progress towards a positive future. The bible teaches us “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). When clients arrive at City Rescue Mission, they experience a wonderful and glorious transformation in their lives as they learn to love, trust and obey the Lord; they become New.

In this issue of The Mission, Tara experiences transformation in her life by accepting love from God and learning how to be disciplined and obedient to God’s word. She accepted responsibility for her past mistakes and worked hard to overcome her addictions; she has become New in Christ and is now living a life rich with God’s blessings.

Thank you for partnering with us to provide help, hope and healing to Tara and our clients at City Rescue Mission. Your compassion is the heart of our Mission.

May God bless you,

Erin Goodin
Interim President
