Elevating Our Mission for the Future

In her nine years at City Rescue Mission, Erin has seen a lot of positive change – change in thousands of lives, building improvements, program expansion – and now, a change in her role.

From CFO to Interim President, and many other hats in between, Erin Goodin is taking on official leadership of City Rescue Mission as President & CEO. For her, the transition isn’t just about being a leader within the walls of her office, it’s about being a leader in the community and the leader in homeless services in Oklahoma City.

“Everybody deserves a chance to have a life, have a house, have stability, have food – have their general necessities met,” says Erin. “I’m looking forward to building and strengthening relationships with our community members, civic leaders and other agencies so we can elevate how we serve those in need.”

A large part of that vision is to serve more people in ways that lead to their long-term stability. For Erin and her team, that means collaboration.

“When we collaborate, we all make a bigger impact. Collaboration allows us to serve more people with excellence – and change more lives for the long-term.”

Expanding housing and vocational services will be possible by working with other community dedicated organizations. The team is hard at work improving case management technology, too, allowing case managers to more effectively serve clients. Creating a first-ever wing – the largest in the city – to accommodate single fathers and their children is also in the works for this fall, furthering the Mission’s commitment to helping families struggling with homelessness.

Another first for the Mission – adding dedicated spiritual support for both clients and donors. Jake Lenhart has joined the team as Director of Pastoral Care Services, and will be leading faith-centered healing and guidance.

“We’re energized about this new era of City Rescue Mission and the enhancements to truly life-changing areas of service for all the men, women and children we serve,” says Erin.
