CRM Covid-19 Action Plan

Many of the people we serve at City Rescue Mission are considered to be a part of the “most vulnerable” to the very adverse effects of the COVID-19 (Corona) Virus. We are on the front lines in providing care to our most vulnerable citizens and we feel strongly that it is our responsibility to protect them, care for them and to keep them as safe as possible.

We have an action plan in place with progressive steps to address the virus threat and protect our clients as well as our staff. With this in mind, we have implemented the following:

  • Effective, Tuesday, March 10th, all volunteer opportunities were suspended until further notice. We will update this action as the situation warrants.
  • A health questionnaire has been added to intake process to assess the health of anyone seeking our services.
  • We are providing personal protective equipment for client services staff members.
  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning throughout the Mission.
  • If the need arises, designated isolated spaces have been created for clients who might be ill.
  • We are meeting with other service providers as well as State and Federal leadership to stay apprised of necessary information related to COVID-19.
  • We are cross-training our team to ensure critical services are continuous.

Now, more than ever, the homeless population needs your help. As this virus spreads, more and more people, including women with children, will engage in services at City Rescue Mission.

Without your help, we would not be able to serve the most vulnerable in Oklahoma City.

Here is what we would ask:

First, pray with us.
We are a faith-based, solution-based ministry creating a Path Back to Hope for our clients. We are covering the Mission in prayer continually.  However, each morning at 8:00 a.m. we intentionally gather for covering and we invite you to join us, right where you are, at this time.

Second, we need continued financial support.
Our clients need your help now more than ever. Click here to donate.

Third, donate needed items.
We will be limiting any donations that the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted on. We continue to accept donations that are essential to our day-to-day operations such as toiletries, pre-packaged, non-perishable food and sanitizing items. To view and order a full list of these items on Amazon, please Click Here.

Alternative Care Homeless Shelter

In collaboration with other shelters and community leaders, City Rescue Mission will open our Men’s Center as a temporary, alternative care shelter to help high-risk homeless individuals during this crisis. Once fully staffed, including medical professionals, the center can serve and provide isolation resources to approximately 75 people who are symptomatic with a fever or cough or have tested positive for COVID-19.

We are on the front lines in providing care to our most vulnerable citizens and we feel strongly that it is our responsibility to protect them, care for them, and to keep them as safe as possible. We thank you for your continued support as we serve those in our city who need our help.

How To Give

In these uncertain times, those we serve are considered to be a part of the “most vulnerable” to the adverse effects of the Covid-19 virus. Your monetary or in-kind donation will ensure that we can continue to provide effective and comprehensive care to those experiencing homelessness in our community.
